Series: Miracles of the OT
“When You Are Tempted to Compromise” They make the best of a not so good situation. * Judah was conquered three times by the Babylonians. * This was not the first time they were asked to Compromise. * These weren’t just poor people who were being exploited. They were asked to compromise politically more than religiously. * Every man has his price! * Where are we being asked to compromise in our world today? o Business ethics. o Relationships, romantic and other wise. o Our private life. They were asked to compromise politically more than religiously. * It could be that there is ENVY involved here. * I wonder where I would have been? * How many of you have ever been the victim of another person’s ambition. * It could have been their excuse for compromise… “this is not religious it is political” They were given a second chance * They could have at that point seen “the gig is up” let’s do it. * The 5 most powerful words ever spoken in the Bible are BUT EVEN IF HE DOESN’T! * Determine before God today that you will serve Him no matter what circumstance you might find yourself. * The king was trying to scare them, intimidate them. * It takes a stronger faith to go through the fire and stand strong for God than it does to escape it altogether * 1st chance 2nd chance even if there was a 3rd chance the answer was the same NO COMPROMISE. We won’t bow to your idols. * * What was it like… * These were the great brick-kilns outside the city. * This guy wasn’t that smart. He should have cooled it down not heated it up they would have suffered more and more lengthy. THE FURNACE They did not escape the fire * They did not escape being thrown in. * Sometimes God delivers us from the trial, Sometimes He delivers out of the trial. * When you move in the Higher Level, you will find divine intervention after obedience. Many people never give God a chance to do His thing. They did receive deliverance. * I guess if it was recorded in the Bible it will end up good. * Do you believe that God could do this for you and Me? * What miracle have you experienced in your life? * What about those of you that are waiting for your first miracle? GO Question
Miracle of the OT
When you are tempted to Compromise
Daniel 3:1-30
Read: Daniel 3 (especially verse 16-18) 1. The topic is "Compromise" this week. In our everyday life, there are things that we compromise on to get by with our business / personal relationships. Have you ever compromised or even sacrificed your Religion / Belief / Principle to get what you want in those areas? Can you share what happened when you did / did not? (Leaders: Ask members if they would commit to at least one thing in their life that they can make a stand in, it may be something small but please encourage it) 2. PJ talks that "Sometimes GOD delivers us FROM the fire, sometimes HE delivers us OUT of the fire." Have you ever experienced anything like that (deliverance FROM fire / OUT of fire)? Can you share your past "fire (trial)" ? What you did? What GOD did? What did you feel that time? What was the key of deliverance? (Leaders : ëFROM the fire means the trials is avoided, ëOUT of the fire means GOD let the trials happen in your life and then HE delivered you OUT of it) 3. Do you have any trial that is still happening in your life? Would you believe that GOD can do something awesome / miraculous thing in YOUR life? Did you give GOD a chance to handle your problem? (Leaders : Please bring any current trials that your member faces to prayer on your go group) 4. Why does GOD sometimes delivers us and sometimes HE does not? (Leaders : Encourage people to share and inspire others with GOD's miracle, starting with yourself) 5. Remember Daniel 3:16-18. Is your faith like that? That kind of faith ("BUT EVEN IF HE DOESN'T") is what true faith is all about. How is your faith today? Have you ever made a statement like that (in prayer / in your life)? What happened after (physically / spiritually)? (Leaders: PJ said he wanted ICA to have a faith like this) 6. Do you believe that God will do miracle in your life through the 10 days of prayer? Will you join? If yes, what is your plan for fasting? (Leaders: This can be an interesting point to argue about and talk)
