How to be Beautiful

Romans 10:11-15 (NIV)

11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

The Value of the Message

    * for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

    * If you are here and you know the Lord, it is only because someone told you about Him.

The Joy of the Message

    * What does Paul mean when he quotes Isaiah 52:7?

Isaiah 52

3 For this is what the LORD says:
"You were sold for nothing, and without money you will be redeemed."
4 For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "At first my people went down to Egypt to live; lately, Assyria has oppressed them.
5 "And now what do I have here?" declares the LORD. "For my people have been taken away for nothing, and those who rule them mock, “ declares the LORD. "And all day long my name is constantly blasphemed.
6 Therefore my people will know my name; therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I."
7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace,
who bring good tidings,
who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion,
"Your God reigns!"
8 Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices; together they shout for joy. When the LORD returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes.
9 Burst into songs of joy together, you ruins of Jerusalem, for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 The LORD will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.

The Beauty of the Message

    * Preach

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

    * Sent

15 And how can they preach unless they are sent?

    * You are either a goer, or a sender.

GO Question

"How to be beautiful" by P. Dave K.

For GG Leader : There is a lot of people who don't know JESUS today. Salvation is for everyone, but they will not know about JESUS unless someone go to tell them.
P. Dave did not talk about missions this week, rather about sharing the GOSPEL in your EVERYDAY lives. If someone has any real life experience about this, please ask them to share it. The point is to encourage others and discover ways to share the good news.
Explain that beautiful in this instance is to be beautiful in the eyes of the Lord.

Romans 10:11-15 & Isaiah 7
"How beautiful are the feet of messengers who brings good news"

Romans 10:14 : But how can people call on the name of the LORD to save them if they don't believe? How can people believe if they never know about HIM? How can they know if nobody tells them about JESUS? How will someone tell them if nobody goes to them?

Questions:

1. It is written in the bible that "Everyone who calls upon the name of the LORD will be saved!". Do you believe that?
(For GGL : Ask everyone to answer YES or NO. If someone says NO, then ask the reason. And try to encourage or give advice while below discussion.).

2. We know the LORD can save HIS people like HE did it for Israelite in the dessert and Babylon. HE has proven it over and over again both in the bible and our own lives.
Have you ever been in a situation where you don't believe GOD will save you? Share your doubts and be strengthened by others.

3. When we receive salvation, I believe GOD will send so many people to be around us.
How do you know JESUS? Did someone tell you about JESUS?
Is it your parents / your friend / your loved ones / or someone else?
Share your experience.

4. Have you ever shared "good news" to someone?
What drives you to do that?
(For GGL: Read Romans 10:5 and Romans 10:8-10. Ask people who have done this before to share to speak out and tell them how easy / difficult it is.)

5. P.Dave said we are in "GOD's redeeming business".
Which part of job/role you are taking?
Are you job less right now? Do you want to have some job?
What do you think your calling is?
(For GGL : Try to find out the job less member's gift and encourage them to have 1st small step.)

Take your time for prayer.
- Salvation for family / friends / working place / Surabaya / Indonesia / World...
- To receive GOD's passion to be sent and to tell the Gospel in daily life.

Hope you guys have a fruitful GG :)

Thanks
- GWW
