scott_250401One of Jeff’s sermons just before many of us left for our holiday vacation was titled, ‘Christmas on the Road’. In that sermon Jeff mentioned how we should expect divine appointments while we travel. When I heard this I really began to think about the possible divine appointments I would have on my vacation to Bali and Lombok. During my 9 day vacation in Bali and Lombok I had several divine appointments. I am only going to share one however. While I was on the Mabua boat going over to Lombok I sat near a German lady and her Indonesian husband.

During the first few minutes of the ride I introduced myself and got to know both of them a bit. Not long after that they both began to feel sea sick and had to go outside of the main room and get some fresh air. I went to sleep for about an hour. When I woke the German lady came back inside and sat down. Her husband wasn’t with her because he was too sick. I took this opportunity to ask more personal questions. As we talk she began to open up and share her fears and asked me if I had the same fears. I began to share with her that I wasn’t afraid of dying and why. I told her that I believe in Jesus and that I know that when I die I will be with Him in heaven. I said that my fear is for those who don’t believe in Jesus and that they face a really horrible future. I told her that those who don’t believe in Jesus will go to hell. I shared many other things with her over the course of a half an hour. She seemed very open and was really taking in all that I shared with her. I didn’t get the chance to pray with her like I was hoping to do, but I did plant some seeds in her life and am praying and believing that God will water them and that this woman will soon know Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Each of us have a responsibility to share Jesus with others. Let’s take every opportunity and every divine appointment that we can to do just it! God bless you all.
