Today Value #3 Loving the Lost What are values?

    * Values are what people hold as the most important things in their lives.
    * Our values are made clear by the decisions that we make.  You are being defined every day by your decisions.
    * Corporations have values.
    * Churches have values.

Corporate Values

    * ABN –AMRO
          o Integrity: -Teamwork:
          o Respect: -Professionalism
    * Boeing
          o Leadership -Integrity
          o Quality -Customer Satisfaction
          o People Working Together
          o A Diverse and Involved Team
          o Good Corporate Citizenship
          o Enhancing Shareholder Value
    * IBM
          o Dedication to every client's success
          o Innovation that matters, for our company and for the world
          o Trust and personal responsibility in all relationships

Church values

    * "Revolution Church" meets at local bars and it's main vision is to (as their website states)

      "To show all people the unconditional love and grace of Jesus without any reservations because of their lifestyle or religious background, past or future. This love has no agenda behind it (I Cor. 13:5). This grace sets no timeline on personal change or standards for spiritual growth (Romans 4:4-5). The idea is to be a part of peoples lives because we truly care for them rather than to fulfill a religious duty; to walk with them through all their struggles as a part of their life, not as a religious outsider."

Luke 15:1-2

Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach. 2 This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people—even eating with them!

      1. God

    * He is more concerned about the Lost than he is about the found.
          o The sheep He left the 99 to search for the 1.
          o The coin again he paints a picture of searching.
          o The son he throws a party for the one who was lost.
    * He puts major effort into finding the lost.
    * He won’t have the wedding or party until the lost have been found.
    * He could have stopped him but didn’t.

      2. The Lost

    * Even people who are part of the Flock get lost.
    * Some of the lost don’t realize they are lost.
    * Sometimes they need to hit rock bottom first.

      3. Us

    * We often times have it backwards. We’re like the prodigal son’s older brother.
    * How active are we when it comes to searching for the lost?
    * Are you lost this morning?
    * It should be reflected in everything we do.
    * As we have outreaches.
